About Kathleen

Born in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Kathleen joined a rock and roll band as a young adult and toured south Florida including Key West as the “chick” singer in the rock band ‘Nasty Habit’. A highlight in her early career was opening for the band ‘The Byrds’.

Discovering that her true musical love is Jazz, Swing, Big Band, and Rhythm and Blues, Kathleen made her way back to the Key West Arts Community, where she continued in music and began her theatrical journey as well.

Kathleen has been seen locally in Key West at ‘The Wine Galley Piano Bar’, ‘The Gardens Sunday Jazz’, ‘Virgilio’s’, ‘Little Palm Island’, Jazz Room, Community benefits such as ‘The Woman’s Hope Concert’, Gordon Ross’ ‘Habitat for Humanity’ and ‘Gordon and Friends’. She was Master of Ceremonies 6 years running for “Pretenders in Paradise”, a world renowned Costume Competition once held annually during Fantasy Fest week in Key West Florida. She has been heard on local radio,  with icon George Murphy and ‘The Overseas Highway Band’, as a radio guest co-host with Steve Miller, on Biz Baz US1 radio, and her music has been showcased on the Chuck Thomas Sunday Morning Jazz show, US1 radio. Kathleen recently performed at the Key West Theater in the “Lady Vocalist’s of Key West” showcase.

Kathleen now resides on the West Coast of Florida in Bonita Springs and continues entertaining from Naples to Sarasota. And occasionally still in Key West!                          “Peace & Music” currently Performs as a Solo act, and offers a Diva Duo too! She also makes special appearances with  “Brylcream”. A five piece Nostalgic Doo-Wop Group.

West Coast References include:  Vasari CC, Marbella Isle, Fort Myers River District Alliance, Miramar Outlets, University Shoppes Village, Heritage Palms CC, River Hall CC, Foxfire CC, Sienna Lakes, Mario’s in Estero, and many private affairs as well.

Musical projects include:

  • *Sold out concert “Let’s fall in Love”  at the Tennessee Fine Art Center, Feb 2011
  • *One woman show “Kathleen… Peace, Love and Jazz”  a musically comical biography! A 2 night sold out performance at  the Red Barn Theater in Key West.
  • *CD Release of “Get this Party Started” December 2009.  A live recording of a sold out 2 night concert honoring 50 years of Shirley Bassey music.
  • *CD release in November 2012 of “I Wish You Love” .  A collaboration of inspirational women in song, from the 1920’s to the 1950’s . *All shows written by Kathleen Peace and co-arranged with Larry Smith
  • CD Release Nov. 2018 Smart and Sassy, “In Perfect Harmony”. Iconic Tunes with Harmonic twists.
  • March,2024 Performed in “The Lady Vocalist’s of Key West ” sold out performance at Key West Theater.

Studio work include:

A recording of original movie soundtracks for filmmaker Karen Leonard, written and produced by Larry Smith, in “A Key West Film”.

Harmony tracks with performing artists, and voice overs for radio marketing and corporate management companies.

Duet with Local Key West Icon George Murphy, A Christmas Album debut.

Recorded all original vocals and tracks for the Overseas Highway Band collectors CD.

Theatrical accomplishment’s:

Originated the role of “Mama Bear” in the Red Barn Theatre Premier Production of “Mavis and the three Bears”. A musical comedy written by Blake Hunter. Musical direction and arrangements by Bob Esty and Franco Richmond.

Supporting actor as Sister Acacius in ” Divine Sister ” with Randy Roberts.  An award winning production written by Charles Busch and directed by Boston Based Larry Coen .
